The Pavilion - Specialist Autism Base

Admissions to The Pavilion - Specialist Autism Base

At Queens Manor, we are commissioned by the Local Authority to provide 20 additional places in our Specialist Autism Base, known in our school as The Pavilion.

The Pavilion caters for children with a primary diagnosis of autism and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) . These children will be from Reception to Year 6 and will need a bespoke learning environment and curriculum to make progress. We have two classrooms, which are split into Early Years/Key Stage One and Key Stage Two.

The Pavilion offers a personalised curriculum, reflecting the mainstream curriculum. Children in the Pavilion access inclusion within the mainstream, this will be individualised for each child.

To meet the needs of the children in the Pavilion, we use a range of evidence-based approaches which are embedded into the school day, including:

  • SCERTS
  • Attention Autism
  • Intensive Interaction
  • Zones of Regulation
  • TCA (Total Communication Approach)
  • Colourful Semantics
  • Social Stories
