What is FoQM?
Friends of Queen’s Manor (FoQM) is a group for all parents, carers, QM staff and the community around. All parents and carers are automatically members of FoQM, so we have a wide and varied membership which reflects the school we support.
FoQM is managed by the Committee and led by the Chair. Elections take place once a year at the Annual General Meeting.
Objectives
- To organise and run events that are fun and engaging for the children
- To create a strong sense of community and belonging for everyone within the school environment
- To raise money for specific school initiatives to further support children’s development and learning experience
Where Does the Raised Money Go?
Over the years, FoQM has sponsored different experiences across all age groups. Those include
- Individual trips for each of the classes
- Fun packed days to support geography, maths, literature, French and other school organised activities
- Digital and live performances
FoQM has also invested in different areas around the school, including
- Lighting and sound system in the school hall
- Multi oscillating cooling fans
- Playtime equipment
- Wide range cultural books … and many more
Would You Like to Get Involved?
None of this could have been achieved without the help of parents, guardians and carers giving up their time, skills, ideas and inspiration. Thank you!
There is a variety of options how you can contribute.
- Join WhatsApp volunteering group – no obligation, just raise your hand when you are happy to help, often just 1 hour of your time (QR code for WhatsApp in on the playground Info Board at school).
- Provide expertise (eg. designing/updating website, occasional building works or helping with various tasks at a summer fair)
- Reach out to your network to get different donations (food for the summer fair, entry tickets to kids’ activities centres, gift vouchers for raffles, etc)
- Ask your employer if they would join in “match funding”, pledging to match a sum of money the employee has either raised or donated to FoQM
or Facebook to check what is going on including when you can volunteer with us.
