Our Nursery provision is led by a qualified teacher and supported by experienced  Early Years Educators.

Queen’s Manor Nursery is always a busy and fun place to be!  The indoor and outdoor learning environments are bright and spacious giving all children the opportunity to explore and learn in their play. Activities and resources are carefully planned to provide a rich variety of first-hand learning opportunities and experiences that encourage children to show interest, curiosity and enthusiasm – the beginnings of lifelong learning. 

Our Nursery Provision

Queen’s Manor Primary Nursery provides places for children aged 3 and 4 years old.
Our Nursery operates for 38 weeks of the year during term time, following the school calendar. Children benefit from a carefully planned Early Years curriculum that supports their development through play, exploration and meaningful experiences.

Our Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, helping children to develop across all areas of learning, including communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics and understanding the world.

Our experienced Nursery team provides a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to become confident, independent learners.

Nursery Funding

15 hours of funded early education

All 3 and 4-year-old children in England are entitled to 15 hours of funded early education per week.

This funding is available for 38 weeks of the year and supports children to access high-quality early education during their Nursery year.

At Queen’s Manor Nursery, these funded hours cover our part-time Nursery provision.

30 hours of funded childcare

Some families may be eligible for up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week if they meet the Government’s eligibility criteria.

These additional funded hours support our full-time Nursery provision.

To access 30 hours funding, eligible parents and carers must provide their 30 hours eligibility code to the school so that we can confirm and process the funded place.

Eligibility depends on individual family circumstances, including parents’ working status and income requirements.

Other support may also be available for eligible families, including:

  • Tax-Free Childcare, which helps eligible working families with childcare costs;
  • other Government childcare support schemes, depending on individual circumstances.

Parents and carers can use the official Best Start in Life Childcare Checker to find out what childcare support they may be entitled to.

Keeping your 30 hours eligibility code up to date

If you are eligible for 30 hours of funded childcare, you will receive an eligibility code through the Government childcare service.

Parents and carers must reconfirm their eligibility every 3 months through their online childcare account. This confirms that their circumstances have not changed and allows them to continue receiving their funded childcare hours.

HMRC will send reminders when it is time to reconfirm your details. Parents and carers should complete this process before the deadline to ensure that their funding remains valid.

Funding period deadlines

Funded childcare places begin at the start of each funding period:

  • Autumn term – starting 1 September

Eligibility must be confirmed by 31 August

  • Spring term – starting 1 January

Eligibility must be confirmed by 31 December

  • Summer term – starting 1 April

Eligibility must be confirmed by 31 March

We recommend that families apply early and provide their eligibility code to the school in advance, allowing enough time for all necessary checks before the start of the term.

Please note that children accessing the universal 15 hours of funded early education for 3 and 4-year-olds do not require an eligibility code or three-monthly reconfirmation.
