Year 2

Our key skills are further developed, including fluency in reading and consolidation of mathematical concepts and investigative science.  We strengthen our resilience, confidence and independence as learners and as members of the school community.   

Throughout Year 2 we are supported in preparation for the national tests in English and maths at the end of the year.

We learn about the world around us, making observations and relating our own experiences to our learning.  We learn about the life cycles of animals and plants, including their habitats, developing our fieldwork skills as we investigate these in the school grounds and beyond.

The year ends with us looking forward to the challenges of Year 3, as we make the transition to a new key stage in our primary school journey.
