At Queen's Manor School, we are committed to providing high quality physical education, sport and physical activity opportunities for all pupils. The Primary PE and Sport Premium is used to improve the quality of PE and sport provision, increase participation in physical activity, promote healthy lifestyles and ensure that improvements are sustainable over time.

The school allocated funding across a range of activities designed to increase participation, improve provision and enhance pupils' experiences of sport and physical activity.

How the Funding Was Spent

Impact of the Funding

During 2025-2026, PE and Sport Premium funding enabled the school to broaden opportunities for pupils to engage in physical activity both during and beyond the school day.

Funding supported a range of extracurricular clubs, allowing more pupils to participate regularly in organised sport and physical activity. These opportunities encouraged healthy lifestyles, developed teamwork and resilience, and increased enjoyment and engagement in physical activity.

Investment in staff professional development enhanced teachers' confidence and expertise in delivering high quality physical education lessons. This has strengthened provision across the school and improved pupils' learning experiences.

Additional resources and equipment improved access to a wider range of physical activities and supported high quality PE lessons throughout the year. Funding also enabled pupils to participate in competitive sporting opportunities through the local schools' sports association.

Swimming provision remained a key priority. Additional funding supported top-up swimming lessons and ensured that pupils had access to further opportunities to develop essential water safety skills.

Swimming and Water Safety Outcomes

• 85% of Year 6 pupils could swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres. 
• 77% of Year 6 pupils could use a range of strokes effectively, including front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke. 
• 77% of Year 6 pupils could perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations. 

• Pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
• Pupils with long-term medical conditions.
• Disadvantaged pupils.
• Increasing opportunities and participation for girls in PE, sport and physical activity. 

Sustainability

The school is committed to ensuring that the benefits of PE and Sport Premium funding continue beyond the current academic year.

Investment in staff training has developed internal expertise and strengthened the quality of PE teaching across the school. Equipment purchased through the grant will continue to support curriculum PE lessons, physical activity opportunities and extracurricular provision for future cohorts. Partnerships with local sporting organisations and participation in competitive sport will continue to provide pupils with opportunities to develop confidence, skills and enjoyment in physical activity.

By investing in both people and resources, the school is building sustainable improvements that will benefit pupils for years to come.
